Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn The beginning of the film is a unrecognizable remake of the first movie (creators couldn't get the rights to the first film). The change this time is Ash and his girlfriend, Linda, visit the cabin. They play the tape recorder, waking the Evil and Linda is turned into a deadite. Ash is forced to kill her by whacking off her head with a shovel. Ash is alone and we see the Evil rush into him at full speed. That ends the quick and very different remake. Let the sequel begin. Ash is thrown into the woods by the evil rushing into him, and is turned into a deadite. Dawn arrives and saves Ash's soul by turning him back into a human. Ash tries to leave the woods, but the bridge has been completely demolished. He has no choice but to go back to the cabin for the evening. That night, Linda's rotted corpse and dimembered head emerge from the grave and attacks Ash. Her severed head bites Ash's hand, infecting it with the Evil. The hand takes on a life of his own and gives Ash a beating. He manages to chop his hand off with a butcher knife before the Evil spreads. Later, the professors daughter shows up with three other people: her boyfriend, and the two locals that led them to the cabin. Demons and spirits haunt the group and thin out their numbers. The Professor's daughter manages to open a vortex by translating a spell out of the Book of the Dead. Ash is able to send the Evil into the vortex, but gets sucked into it himself. Ash, and his car end up in medieval Europe, surrounded by knights.

Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn Facts

• The cabin from the first movie was burned down so they used the set of "The Color Purple".
• Evil Dead 2 slogan: 2 Terrifying, 2 Frightening, 2 Much.
• Evil Dead 2 is also banned in Finland
• Freddy Krueger's glove can be seen hanging in the cellar. Raimi did this because Wes Craven showed Evil Dead on the t.v. in Nightmare on Elm Street.
• Wes Craven used the Evil Dead Trilog again when he placed Evil Dead 2 in Scream. The kids rent it for their big party. They also rent Clerks. They have good taste!
• The book that Ash places onto of the garbagee can containing his severed hand is titled "A Farewell to Arms".
• A necklace in the movie is laid out in the shape of a human skull.
• Evil Dead 2 had a budget of \$3 million.

Army of Darkness This third installment in the Evil Dead series picks up with Ash as a captive regaling us with his unbelievable story (ED2). Ash is taken prisoner, mistaken for an enemy soldier. The prisoners are to be thrown into a pit which contains deadites. The first prisoner is thrown in and silence falls uopn the scene. Moments later a stream of blood gushes from the pit, spraying the crowd. Ash is up next. He stands his ground against the two deadites and crawls out of the pit. This heroic feat gains Ash some respect. Our Hero is then sent on a quest to find the Book of the Dead, because it is the only thing that will get him back to his own time. In his quest Ash unleashes the Army of Darkness with his bumbling ways. Ash and King Arthur's army fight against the Army of Darkness, and in the end are victorious. The Screen fades back to S-Mart with an evil demon showing up wanting to eat Ash's soul, he makes quick work of this demon, and Army of Darkness ends. Note: The original ending had Ash swallowing 6 drops of a sleeping potion, while sealed in a cave with his car. Ash miscounts and swallows one drop too many. When he awakes and breaks free of his cave he finds a post-apocaliptic Europe and yells out in agony.

Army of Darkness Facts

• Scrapped alternate titles included Evil Dead 1300AD and Midevil Dead.
• Their is an alternate ending to the movie. Ash takes a potion that allows him to sleep till his own time. He takes too much and ends up sleeping until the end of the world!
• The budget for Army of Darkness was \$13 million.
• An issue of Fangoria is visible in the trunk of Ash's car.
• The Sci-Fi network sometimes airs a version of Army of Darkness that includes a few minutes of extra footage.
• In Japan the movie is called Captain Supermarket.
• The pharse, Klaatu Barada Nikto, is from The Day the Earth Stood Still. It was slightly altered in the film to be, Klaatu Varata Niktu.

Evil Dead Updates!

Yeah.....so I'm a sucker. I bought 3 out of 5 collector edition DVDs just for the covers. I do think that the three above are very cool. I just can't wait to see what The Evil Dead: Special Edition has on it!!!
